Group Online Tuition
10 weeks
start date: 26 Feb 2024 19:30GMT

Course Description:

This course is aimed at anyone who has an interest in improving their Spanish. If you learned some Spanish at school, university, a previous beginners course or have been practicing on language learning apps and need some practice to consolidate your previous learning to start having more complex conversations, this is your course. Learners will acquire grammar and practice speaking, the context of the history of the language we are learning, and how Spanish speaking countries resist colonialism and capitalism through culture, arts and verbal expression.

Level

In beginners’ Spanish 2 course, learners are expected to have some familiarity with the Present Tense in Spanish, as well as experience introducing themselves and talking about a variety of topics. The aim of this second level is that you manage present, past and future tenses, express your opinion about yourself and others while exchanging knowledge with your classmates, also understand written and spoken general information about every day matters while getting closer to Latin American culture, arts, history and societies.

After a main review session for learners to revisit their previous knowledge, exercises in class will include discussions of the learners’ favorite topics as well as role plays and word games to encourage all classmates to acquire new vocabulary and express themselves in a comfortable way about what interests them.

The course will be taught by Carmen Pulido, she is a Spanish language teacher from Mérida, Venezuela and has served as a translator during several international political events in Venezuela and all over the world. She is keen to help link the hearts of people who struggle for self-determination. Carmen has a degree in Audiovisual Media, hence her inclination to promote solidarity through communication and language.
